First Church offers several educational classes throughout the year, some on-going, some seasonal, like during Advent. We would like to know what you are interested in and any special classes you'd like to see First Church offer.

Our children are important aspects of the community at Wenatchee First United Methodist Church.   We seek to include them in every community event from our Faith@Work monthly mission program, Wednesday night dinners, and by participating in worship through music and drama.  As part of our ministry to our youth and children, we seek to help them grow into members of the church who will strive as disciples to build a community that seeks to know and love God and serve others.

We minister to our children through several programs:

6th, 7th, 8th grade youth
Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00pm

An exciting and a bit wired youth group experience with constant opportunities to bring friends, build relationships, and grow in your understanding of the Bible.

Join leaders and friends in fun group interactions that will teach relevant Bible stories.

9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade Youth
Wednesdays, 6:45-8:00pm

Amaze yourself! Become someone more loving, more compassionate, more forgiving, more faithfilled. Our youth group challenges and encourages youth to participate in a relationship with God and others. We want to build a youth group filled with opportunities for youth to experience the unbinding love of God and to offer them the  freedom to doubt, question and wonder about their own path.  We offer this through conversations, studies, service and mission trips. Accountability, character, and care are stressed in all that we do. We strive to help them continue to dream, develop and deploy their passions. We teach them how to become a young community of believers devoted to prayer, and fellowship. We base all things in love and healthy relationships, having none in need among us.  Basically, First Church Sr. High Youth Group is preparing youth to make a difference and continue to build God’s House: a movement that goes beyond the church walls.

Music at First Church is an integral part of our worship services.  You will enjoy traditional piano music at our 8:00 service.  You will rock with the contemporary Celebration Team at our 9:00 service or enjoy the classic sounds of the organ, Sanctuary Choir, and Bell Choir during the Classic Service at 10:30 a.m. There is even a children's choir that rehearses and performs twice a year!   Learn more.

Heart to Heart ministry is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide Christian one to one care for those who are home bound or in care facilities.

That no one in the Body of Christ goes unnoticed, uncared for, or unloved. God has gifted many people among us with wonderful spiritual gifts. "Heart to Heart" is designed to equip persons for a ministry of caring and nurturing in their service to God and the church. Those who are gifted and willing, will provide care for people in need of prayer, time, and loving attention. This will be a model by which our congregation serves our community in God's mercy, love, and grace.
Our "Heart to Heart" team is designed to multiply our Christian care-giving and outreach. Working together with our ordained pastors, we will touch far more lives with Christian care than our clergy staff could possibly reach by themselves.
"Heart to Heart" Volunteers are committed Christians who
  • Make at least one personal contact per month with a person who is either shut in
    or in a care facility
  • Help those who are unable to attend worship services feel connected to the church
  • Communicates to the church office needs they become aware of
  • Make a one year commitment of service to the team
  • Meet regularly with each other for continuing education, support, and sharing
Contact the church office if you are interested in joining this important ministry
Our Bags of Grace ministry benefits the homeless in our area. A team has been formed that collects donations of certain items to put in the "Bags of Grace," like canned tuna, health bars, dried fruit, jerky, socks, mittens, hand and foot warmers, knit hats, gloves, scarves, etc. that will benefit those who live on the street. These bags will be available to us at church for the low cost of $3.00 per bag.

We then carry these "Bags of Grace" in our vehicle and whenever we meet a homeless person on the street, we give them one of these bags.  The team is in continual need of these donated items to replenish their supply. We also accept monetary donations of any amount, along with $5 gift cards to restaurants / fast food establishments.
